THE CAMPAIGN ‘LIGHT UP THEIR SMILES’ CHOSEN AS ONE OF THE TEN BEST SOCIAL INITIATIVES OF 2014
The crowdfunding campaign ‘Ilumina Sonrisas’ (Light Up Their Smiles) was chosen as one of the ten best social initiatives of 2014 by the Fundación Compromiso y Transparencia (Commitment and Transparency Foundation) and the magazine “Compromiso Empresarial” (Corporate Commitment). The activity rewarded, which began at the end of last year, has as its goal to provide help to nongovernmental organizations that perform their work of cooperation in areas with energy deficiencies.
The selection of the ten best social initiatives by the Fundación Compromiso y Transparencia and “Compromiso Empresarial” was instituted three years ago and searches among the activities carried out by companies, organizations and public administrations for those that stand out and because of their originality, innovation, complexity or simplicity become catalysts for social change.
Bornay’s crowdfunding campaign ‘Ilumina Sonrisas’, selected as one of the best of the year, seeks the donation to nongovernmental organizations of more than 100 units of the firm’s latest product, PinLite, a portable device that provides energy. The company commits itself to covering the costs of transportation to the offices of the corresponding NGO in Spain. Furthermore, it will provide each device at below the cost price so that donations can be more plentiful.
At the present time we are collaborating with África Esperanza, SOS África, Guaguacuna, Project Ditunga and Shuma, but those who join the initiative and cover the total cost of a PinLite can send it the NGO of their choice.
“We are very pleased with the choice of our campaign as one of the 10 social initiatives of the year in our country and would like to thank the Fundación Compromiso y Transparencia and the magazine ‘Compromiso Empresarial’ for having considered us.
At Bornay we are very conscious of the need to apply social responsibility policies, and for this reason we have always worked for the environment and the most deprived groups, and, especially, to comply with our motto: taking energy to where there is none.
‘Ilumina sonrisas’ is a pretty initiative that combines the work of the company, whose main element is our latest product, with our as well as encouraging society’s awareness and involvement,” commented Juan de Dios, General Director of Bornay.
